The company Akrapovic was founded in 1990 by Igor Akrapovic, who gained his experience in tuning motorcycles. His insights were built both through his own motorsports and through observations of others. As a performance-oriented racing driver, he strived to turn his experience and technical know-how into reality. Through this pursuit, Akrapovic has earned a global reputation based on more than 30 years of motorsport experience at an international top level.
Akrapovic cooperates with several top teams from all championships on the national and international scene to impressively demonstrate the performance of its products. This motivation has already resulted in countless world championship and national titles.
For sure, from this experience, Akrapovic knows that only high-quality materials can be used, such as high-strength titanium, stainless steel and carbon with the highest tensile strength and lowest weight. The supplier therefore provides a titanium alloy that is manufactured exclusively for Akrapovic. This titanium is stronger, more heat-resistant and more resilient than any other freely available titanium. Not only does it provide greater strength, but it is also approximately 40% lighter than stainless steel.

But Akrapovic is of course not just about performance, but also or especially about design to create a fine line for the vehicle. Therefore, Akrapovic is constantly looking for something new and is by this considered a trendsetter in design and materials.

Of course, good design and the best material also include perfect workmanship and manufacturing. The hydroforming process shapes the pipes at water pressures of around 4000 bar. Tapered manifold pipes manufactured using hydroforming provide optimal exhaust gas flow. To ensure that no weld seams or grooves influence the exhaust gas flow, Akrapovic uses sliding connections that are locked in place using springs. This type of connection can not only be released quickly but also reduces vibrations and relieves the material.
With these high quality standards, it is needless to say that everything has to be manufactured in-house in order to have 100% control over the quality of all components.
